Tom Scott

Tom Scott is currently Associate University Librarian for Information Services at York University, Toronto Canada. Tom’s career of over 30yrs has focused on introducing innovative services and also, as the History Liaison Librarian, supporting one of the most engaged history departments in Canada. As Chair of the department that housed liaison librarians from several disciplines, including Environmental Studies, Tom welcomed the opportunity to support and later work directly with the development of establishing a learning and educational centre in Costa Rica. This project has recently been recognized by the Ontario Council of University and College Libraries through a Special Achievement Award. Tom brings some administrative experience and enthusiastically seeks to develop collaborative partnerships that benefit the local communities within Costa Rica and York’s students and researchers.
